Castle Crags State Park feature granite cliffs formed by glaciers eroding the lighter rocks away during the last Ice Age. The spires soar 2000-6000 feet above the Sacramento River, and some are accessible by hiking trails that offer outstanding views of the landscape. The park is also a great place for swimming, fishing, hiking and camping. The Pacific Crest Trail passes through this park.
