Red Butte welcomes you to the Kaibab National Forest. If you’re up to a challenging hike, consider the Red Butte Look Out Trail Head (H4). In 1.25-miles, it climbs 6,460 feet to a fire lookout and expansive views in all directions. Red Butte is a lava capped remnant of rock layers and is sacred to the Havasupai Indian Tribe, the only permanent residents of the Grand Canyon. Please treat it with respect.
