Transfers of Personal Data

When you create a myscenicdrives.com account, add personal data to your profile, plan trips, or place an order, your personal data will be collected and stored on servers in the United States. Our hosting provider is an SSAE-SOC 1 Type 2, SSAE-SOC 2 Type 2, HIPAA, PCI and ISAE-3402 compliant company.

Information Sharing

We will share your personal information with third parties only in the ways that are described in this privacy statement or as required by law.

We provide personal information to companies that help us run myscenicdrives.com. They are authorized to use it only as necessary to provide their services to us:

• Maps and Directions: The locations in your road trips and searches are sent to Mapbox to calculate directions, drive times, and elevations and to display maps.
• Payment Processing: When you place an order, your payment information is processed by Stripe, including Apple Pay payments.
• Shipping: To deliver the items you buy, we share your name, shipping address, and phone number with the United States Postal Service and FedEx, through Stamps.com.
• E-mail and Text Messages: Order e-mails, the directions and links you ask us to send, and our newsletter are sent through Mailgun. Text messages are delivered as e-mail to your mobile carrier’s text message gateway.
• Short Links: When you share a trip, we may create a short link for it with Bitly.
• Customer Service: Our support chat is provided by DocsBot, and support requests may be recorded in our customer support tools.
• Hosting and Monitoring: myscenicdrives.com is hosted on Amazon Web Services and Linode (Akamai), and we use Grafana to monitor our systems. Your personal data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
• Error Reporting: When our website encounters an error, technical details about the error and your browser are sent to Bugsnag (SmartBear) so that we can fix the problem.
• Analytics and Advertising: We use Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and Google Ads to understand how our website is used and to measure our advertising; see Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies.

We also share information in these ways, at your direction:

• Trip Sharing: When you share a road trip with other people, they can see it, and if you allow them to edit it, they can change it. When you share a link to a trip, anyone with the link can see it.
• Contributions: Reviews, ratings, and approved photos you submit may be published on our website along with the name you submit with them.
• Gifts: When you send an item as a gift, the recipient’s name and address are used to ship it, and your gift message is included with it.

We may also disclose your personal information

• as required by law such as to comply with a subpoena, or similar legal process
• when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request

Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in, to keep track of your shopping cart, to protect your account and our forms from unauthorized or fraudulent actions, and to remember choices you make. These are always on, because the website cannot work without them.

We also use Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to understand, in aggregate, how people use our website, and Google Ads conversion tracking to measure how well our advertising works. EU and UK individuals and Swiss individuals with inquiries or complaints regarding our handling of personal data received in reliance on the EU-U.S. DPF and the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. DPF, and the Swiss-U.S. DPF should first contact FX Development, Inc. at: support@myscenicdrives.com.

In compliance with the EU-U.S. DPF and the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. DPF and the Swiss-U.S. DPF, FX Development, Inc. commits to refer unresolved complaints concerning our handling of personal data received in reliance on the EU-U.S. DPF and the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. DPF and the Swiss-U.S. DPF to Verasafe, an alternative dispute resolution provider based in the United States. If you do not receive timely acknowledgment of your DPF Principles-related complaint from us, or if we have not addressed your DPF Principles-related complaint to your satisfaction, please visit Verasafe’s dispute submission page for more information or to file a complaint. We process your personal information to provide the services and products you request (performance of our contract with you); with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time; for our legitimate interests in keeping the service secure, preventing fraud, and improving and promoting it; and to comply with our legal obligations. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

California. You have the right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose, and to ask us to delete or correct it. We do not sell your personal information for money. Our use of Google Ads conversion tracking may be considered “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law; you may opt out of it by blocking cookies in your browser or through Google’s ad settings.
