The Santa Barbara Zoo features 160 species of animals on 30 acres and it’s worth planning on at least half a day to explore it all. There are two rare Amur leopards, Channel island foxes, Chilean flamingos, Asian elephants, giraffes, lions, river otters, Humboldt penguins and more as well as a barnyard petting zoo, train ride and Dentzel carousel.
