Once housing 400 railway workers, Pigeon Key (and bridge) are on the National Historic Register. Tour original buildings from the workman’s camp — the Mess hall, Post Office, Foreman’s House, Dormitories and visit the railroad museum. There is an admission fee to the island which benefits restoration efforts. Access to the island is by foot or ferry.
