Examine Mo’okini Heiau, one of the oldest and most sacred temples at Kohala Historical Sites State Monument. The Heiau was erected in approximately 480 A.D. and dedicated to Ku, the Hawaiian god of war. This site is also the birthplace of King Kamehameha I. The road can be rough and is best suited for a 4-wheel drive vehicle. Entrance is free, closed Weds.
