Liliuokalani Park and Gardens is a 30-acre authentic Edo-style Japanese garden. It was created in 1917 as a tribute to Japanese immigrants who worked in Hawaii’s sugar cane fields. Meander the pathways and footbridges observing pagodas, sculptures, and plants such as bamboo, banyan and umbrella trees amid expansive views of Hilo Bay. The park is free.
