Among the many stories is that the rocks here were believed by settlers and Native Americans to be tombstones that hid the home of the Devil. A strenuous half-mile hike up to the peak of Devil’s Courthouse displays wondrous views all the way to South Carolina, Georgia, and Tennessee. Enjoy the delicate and rare high-altitude plants, stay on the trails.
