The desert ambiance of Escalante State Park recalls its greener past with its forests of petrified trees. Hike the 1 mile Petrified Forest Trail which climbs 250 feet passing various petrified specimens or the 3/4 mile Trail of the Sleeping Rainbows. Stop in the visitor center to see Native American artifacts.
