During the 1900s, more than 8,000 sequoias were logged from Converse Basin. Some of the forest has returned, but many stumps remain of the giants that lived here before. In the park lives the 6th tallest tree in the world, the Boole Tree, at 269 feet tall that was spared being logged because of its enormous size.
