A side-trip on this dirt road just up the road from the Grand Valley Overlook heads into Cactus Park and the Gunnison Gravel Natural Area which protects ancient river deposits that prove the Gunnison River flowed here in prehistoric times. Here you will also find fishing, wildlife viewing and hiking.
