On April 5, 1901, Theron Stafford made the first phone call in Cle Elum from the store he owned. The Pacific Northwest Bell Telephone Company eventually gave the original telephone exchange building to the Cle Elum Historical Society along with its historic equipment.
The museum not only focuses on telephones, but also on life in the small town.
